I built a free one-tap captcha bot for Telegram groups

Solo dev from Poland here. Spam bots joining Telegram groups was the annoyance I wanted to remove, so I built Welcome Gate, a small free bot that checks new members with a single button.

How it works:

• When someone joins, the bot mutes them and posts a welcome card with one button: "I'm human".
• Only that person can tap it. Tapping unmutes them and the card is deleted.
• No tap within 5 minutes and they are removed (they can rejoin later).
• Admins add the bot with the "Ban users" and "Delete messages" rights, then run /gate in the group. /gate off turns it off, /welcome <text> sets your own welcome text.
• 11 languages. Free in every group. Pro is optional and per group (custom welcome without our footer, a custom button, a 10-minute window).
