We built Anchor to answer that question with data. It queries ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini with real user scenarios and measures how often your brand shows up.
We ran diagnostics on 23 well-known brands across three categories. Here's the top 10.

What surprised us
Same industry, massive gap. Vercel scored 83. Railway scored 41. Windsurf scored 28. All developer tools. But Vercel has way more structured content across Reddit, Stack Overflow, and tech blogs that AI models train on.
AI tools can't get recommended by AI. ChatGPT scored 41. Perplexity got 50. Claude got 37. AI assistants don't recommend competitors.
Product quality ≠ AI visibility. Cursor has passionate fans. It scored 34. GitHub Copilot scored 54 — not because it's better, but because GitHub's content footprint is enormous.
How it works
Anchor sends real user queries to 4 AI models and measures:
- Discovery rate — Can AI find you at all?
- Brand accuracy — When it mentions you, is the description correct?
- Hit rate — In "recommend me X" scenarios, how often do you appear?
Score is 0-100. Discovery weighted 60%, brand representation 40%.
