๐ŸŽ‰ Invoiso Just Crossed 10,000 Downloads!

When Invoiso reached 1,000 downloads, I considered it a small milestone that meant a lot.

Now it has crossed 10,000 downloads, and honestly, it's difficult to put that feeling into words.

Invoiso started in July 2025 as a simple offline invoice maker. What started as a small weekend project has gradually grown into a complete billing application, largely because of feedback from its users.

And the journey is far from over.

๐Ÿงพ From a Simple Invoice Maker to a Complete Billing Tool

Today, Invoiso supports much more than creating a basic invoice.

Invoicing

  • Invoices, quotations and payment receipts
  • GST document types
  • Custom invoice numbering
  • Custom fields
  • Per-line descriptions
  • Tax-inclusive pricing
  • Per-item tax
  • CGST / SGST / IGST
  • Invoice-level discounts
  • Charges and adjustments
  • Document cloning
  • Bulk actions
  • Unsaved-change warnings

Many of these features came from actual user requests.

๐Ÿ“„ PDFs & Printing

Generating a professional invoice is just as important as managing the data behind it.

Invoiso currently includes 7 PDF templates, including:

  • Classic
  • Modern
  • Minimal
  • Executive
  • Grid Classic
  • Compact A6
  • Thermal

It also supports:

  • Thermal receipt printers
  • Custom logos
  • Signature images
  • Watermarks
  • Custom theme colours
  • Landscape layouts
  • UPI QR codes
  • UPI QR codes for remaining balances
  • Multiple UPI IDs
  • Bank details

๐Ÿ’ฐ Payments & Reports

Invoiso also grew into a payment and reporting tool.

You can manage:

  • Partial payments
  • Bulk payment settlement
  • Customer statements
  • Revenue reports
  • Tax summaries
  • Top customers
  • Top products
  • Daily reports
  • PDF exports
  • CSV exports

๐Ÿ“ฆ Products & Customers

For businesses managing products and inventory:

  • Inventory management
  • Units
  • Product aliases
  • Product metadata
  • Purchase prices
  • CSV import
  • CSV export

๐ŸŒ Making It Useful Around the World

Although Invoiso started with a strong focus on small businesses in India, I wanted the application to work for businesses anywhere.

It supports:

All currencies

And PDF fonts for:

  • Malayalam
  • Tamil
  • Telugu
  • Hindi
  • Kannada
  • Marathi
  • Sinhala
  • Tibetan

The application itself is available in:

  • English
  • Hindi
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Chinese
  • Nepali
  • Tibetan

There is still plenty of room to improve the translations, and community feedback is always welcome.

๐Ÿ” The Philosophy Hasn't Changed

Despite all these additions, one thing has remained unchanged.

Invoiso is designed to be simple and independent.

There is:

โŒ No subscription
โŒ No mandatory account
โŒ No cloud lock-in
โŒ No requirement to upload your business data

Your data stays on your machine.

Invoiso is available for:

Windows โ€ข Linux โ€ข macOS

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Built Mostly During Evenings and Weekends

One of the things that makes this milestone special to me is how Invoiso was built.

It wasn't started as a big company project.

It started as a simple idea and gradually grew through development during evenings, weekends, and whatever free time I could find.

There were plenty of bugs.

There were features that needed to be redesigned.

There were releases that didn't go exactly as planned.

And there were lots of messages saying:

"Can you add this feature?"

Some of those requests eventually became part of the application.

That's one of my favourite parts of building an open-source project.

โค๏ธ Thank You

To everyone who has:

  • Downloaded Invoiso
  • Reported a bug
  • Requested a feature
  • Suggested an improvement
  • Translated the application
  • Tested new releases
  • Shared Invoiso with someone
  • Starred the GitHub repository
  • Or simply sent a message saying that it was useful

Thank you.

10,000 downloads isn't just a number to me.

It's 10,000+ opportunities for the project to be useful to someone.

And it gives me a lot of motivation to keep building.

๐Ÿš€ What's Next?

There are still many things I want to improve.

More features.

Better UX.

Better documentation.

More languages.

More integrations.

And, of course, plenty of bugs waiting to be discovered. ๐Ÿ˜„

On to the next 10K! ๐Ÿš€

If you're a developer building an open-source project, I'd also love to hear about your journey.

What started as a small project for you that became much bigger than expected?
