Book reflection: 5 killer habits be a rebel

In a world that often celebrates ruthlessness and selfish ambition, Be a Rebel is a much-needed reminder to pause, reflect, and be kind—to ourselves and to those around us.

Today's generation has conditioned people in such a way that they are ruthless and selfish. Nobody wants to think about others and be compassionate. Money-minded people just want materialistic wealth, which also leads them to suffer and become lonely. Money is important, but losing ourselves in the process of being successful is not worth all the wealth.

We never know how our harsh words and bullying someone in the name of a joke and fun can impact a person badly. This invites several mental health issues, which even people themselves are unaware of, and the trauma that they are suffering from is just being transferred to the people around them. We should pause a little, take time for ourselves, and travel solo for real-life problem-solving capabilities.

Taking ownership of our lives will help us gain confidence, which will prepare us for life failures and still move forward. Because people will fail at any point in their lives, and if they keep looking and overthinking about failures, depression will be the only place where they will find themselves. We have to break free from the societal pressure of being a perfect person and be ourselves, as this gives rise to a lot of mental health problems. If we learn to let go and unlearn bad habits, we may also be able to live a healthy life.

I believe everyone must have some goals or targets, as this helps an individual keep moving forward, even small bite-sized steps in the right direction, and in an imperfect way will build a person's identity. People must self-introspect and understand themselves, and stop taking validation from outside. Being kind to themselves and the people around them won’t harm anybody, and supporting each other will only lead to growth and being healthy in every aspect.
