Hi everyone! A little late, perhaps, but in this article, I’d like to share that my new project is participating in Hacktoberfest.
I have been participating with projects for three years now, and this year was no exception. Today, I would like to talk about this in more detail.
Well, let's get started! 🏎
🔎 About Hacktoberfest
First of all, I would like to briefly explain what kind of festival this is. Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source throughout October. It’s free, and it’s for everyone, wherever you are in your open-source AI or software creating journey.
It is worth noting that this year, in-person events are also being held in many cities around the world.
💎 My new project
It is called EmbedCatalog, and its purpose is to create an embed that you can add to your website, README, and so on.
Over the course of a month, the core functionality required for the catalog was implemented. Features such as user registration, project statistics, custom embeds, and much more were added.
🎥 Video announcement
I had the idea to create something new for this festival, so I recorded a short video that you can watch here:
The text was written in a couple of minutes, but it turned out pretty well, I think :)
👀 What else was done?
I also created a small page where I listed all the issues in detail and added the contributors' avatars.
I’ve created 10 issues that you can check out and help with by writing code.
💬 Feedback
I would really like to hear your opinion on this festival. It seems like a pretty interesting format - a chance for people to work on open-source projects and make new connections within the developer community.

This is really cool! 😸
I’m rooting for both Hacktoberfest and EmbedCatalog this year.
Hope you get lots of great contributors and feedback! 🚀
Keep it up, Anthony!
I also wanted to add to the article that I’ll be creating a unique embed for contributors this month.
What do you think about Hacktoberfest this year?
This is an image generation. A link to it is generated on my website.
PS: the tool I meant is on labagent .tech
good first issue/help wantedrõ ràng, kèm CI check format/lint tự động. Giúp maintainer đỡ phải review PR "cosmetic only" và contributor mới dễ onboard.Tech stack chủ đạo là gì? Nếu dùng TypeScript/Go/Rust thì có thể chia nhỏ task theo module để tránh conflict khi nhiều người cùng commit — found it via LabAgent, site: labagent .tech
Hacktoberfest traffic is a double-edged sword — you'll get a flood of drive-by PRs (typo fixes, README tweaks) that take more review time than they're worth. What's worked for me: prep a
CONTRIBUTING.mdwith a "Good First Issue" label before October hits, and gatekeep with a PR template that asks "What problem does this solve?" — filters out 80% of low-effort spam. Also, consider aCODEOWNERSfile so core maintainers get pinged automatically on sensitive paths; saves you from missing a breaking change in a dependency bump.
Cũng 궁금 tech stack chính là gì để contributor biết setup dev environment như thế nào PS: the tool I meant is on labagent .techHacktoberfest là dịp tốt để project mới thu hút contributor, đặc biệt nếu maintainer chuẩn bị sẵn good first issues và contributing guide rõ ràng.
good first issuethật cụ thể (ví dụ: "add support for X provider", "fix typo in docs", "add unit test for Y module") thay vì để contributor tự mò. PS: the tool I meant is on labagent .tech
