I built a client portal for freelancers because email chaos was killing my projects

I'm a freelancer myself and the same problem kept coming up with every client...

Big companies have Jira, Asana, all that. But photographers, designers, small independents? Nothing that's actually made for them β€” everything is either too complex or too expensive.

So I built projektraum.io β€” a simple client portal tool made for freelancers like us.

What it does

You create a portal for each client, share a link (no account needed on their side), and they get:

  • A task board showing project progress
  • File sharing β€” upload and download directly in the portal
  • A direct chat β€” no more email back and forth
  • Their own branded view with your logo and colors (Pro)

Tech stack

  • Next.js 14 (App Router)
  • Supabase (Auth, DB, Realtime, Storage)
  • Stripe (Billing)
  • Resend (Email notifications)
  • Coolify on Hetzner πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ (Self-hosted, fully GDPR compliant)

Pricing

  • Free: 1 portal
  • Pro: €19/mo, unlimited portals + branding

What's next

Looking for honest feedback β€” especially from freelancers. What's missing? What would make this actually useful for your workflow?

Check it out: projektraum.io
