DHH said in his latest interview with Lex Fridman that people usually use only 5% of the features a given piece of software offers and that now coding agents let users build the just the 5% they need, which allows them to replace those tools with their own.
It is interesting that he can hold that understanding and at the same time focus his efforts in putting together a Linux distribution with an opinionated combination of tools and utilities, omakase standing for the chef's choice.
Instead, it sounds more logical for the focus to be on a minimalistic Linux distribution with the necessary tools for a user to build or put together whatever tools and utilities they need, like giving the diner access to the buffet, the kitchen and a robot cook so they can order and eat whatever they want.
