REST, or REpresentational State Transfer, is an architectural design system thought up by Roy Thomas Fielding in 2000 after being frustrated with the lack of standardization in structuring URLs. RESTful systems are (stateless)[https://restfulapi.net/statelessness/] and separate the concerns of the client and server.
