Done Is Braver Than Perfect

Perfectionism looks like high standards.

Usually it's just fear
wearing a respectable coat.

If you never finish,
you never have to be judged.
The unshipped thing
can't be criticized.
So you polish forever
and call it care.

Finishing is the brave part.

Putting the thing into the world,
imperfect, where people can see it
and have opinions about it —
that takes more courage
than any amount of private polishing.

Done means you risked something.
Perfect-but-hidden risked nothing.

The people you admire
aren't flawless.
They're just willing
to be seen before they're ready.

Ship the imperfect thing.
Let it be judged.
Get better in the open.

Done isn't the lazy option.
Most days, it's the bravest one.
