The reflex is to schedule a meeting.
Something's unclear? Book a call.
A small decision? Get everyone in a room.
Most of it didn't need one.
A meeting costs an hour
times everyone in it,
plus the focus each person
had to break to attend.
That's an expensive way
to say something
a short message would have carried.
So before you send the invite, ask:
could this be three clear sentences?
Do I need a conversation,
or do I need an answer?
Save the meeting for the thing
that truly needs it —
the messy discussion,
the real disagreement,
the human moment.
Protect people's time
like it's yours, because it is —
you're spending it.
The kindest communicator
is the one who didn't
call the meeting.
