Somewhere we learned that "I don't know"
sounds like weakness.
So we bluff.
We nod. We hope no one asks a second question.
I've done it. It never once made me stronger.
Try the honest version instead:
"I don't know yet — I'll find out."
Listen to what that "yet" does.
It admits the gap
and promises to close it.
It's not surrender. It's ownership.
The people I trust most
are the ones who can say it plainly.
Because when they do say they're sure,
I believe them.
Confidence isn't pretending to know everything.
It's being calm about what you don't —
and reliable about closing the gap.
