On the 21st of December 2025, four days before Christmas, I made a decision that changed everything.
I had just come off the back of a failed Web3 project. I had learned about blockchain less than a year before. I had no development background, no investors, no team and no roadmap. What I had was a stubborn refusal to quit and an idea I could not let go of.
I started building SocialHub.
The Problem I Was Trying to Solve
Social media platforms generate billions in revenue from content that creators produce for free. You spend hours building an audience, creating posts, going live, engaging with your community and the platform keeps almost everything.
I wanted to build something different. A social media platform where the value flows back to the people who create it. Not in points. Not in gift cards. In real money.
What I Built
Seven months later SocialHub is live on two blockchains. BNB Smart Chain and Apertum.

The architecture uses a hybrid model. Social interactions are recorded off-chain in Firebase with zero gas fees making micro-transactions economically viable. Features include a full social feed, live streaming with co-hosting and screen share, voice rooms, community hubs with paid subscriptions, a marketplace with on-chain escrow, a gifting system, creator analytics, direct messages, push notifications and a Telegram Mini App.
I built every single line of it. Alone.
What I Got Wrong
Building the product was the easy part. Getting people to use it is the hard part.
I assumed that if I built something real and useful people would find it. They do not. Discovery is its own problem entirely separate from the product itself.
I also underestimated how much trust matters in Web3. Asking someone to deposit money into a platform they just discovered is a massive ask regardless of how transparent and verifiable the smart contract is. Nobody wants to be first.
What I Got Right
I kept it simple. One star equals one cent of USDT. Fixed forever. No token to speculate on. No complex tokenomics. Just a stable unit of value that anyone can understand.
I built it as a hybrid. On-chain per action is economically impossible at cent level micro-transactions. Combining Firebase speed with blockchain security was the right architectural decision. Gas costs are estimated at around five dollars per month at one thousand users.
I kept building even when nobody was watching. The platform today has live streaming, a marketplace, a lottery, community hubs and more. All of it built in the gaps between trying to find users.
Where It Stands Today
The platform is live. Real money has flowed through it. The smart contract works exactly as designed.
I am still looking for the first real community to call it home.
