Good Morning all! Today was a theory class and I learnt about some commonly used HTML semantic tags. Semantic tags are basically tags whose name itself provides a hint regarding the type of content present inside those. For example header tag indicates that it is the head of the document while the footer tag indicates the end of the document and so on. Some more semantic tags are article , aside , main , nav etc. Like I mentioned, the names of these tags itself indicates the type of content inside them.
The main use of these semantic tags is to improve our website's Search Engine Optimization(SEO) basically which means it way in which our website is indexed , crawled and ranked in a search engine's result page. So a really neat and ordered website with proper usage of these tags will help improve the website's indexing which in turn enables the website to reach more people. Okay so hope this helps those planning to build a website in the near future.
That's all for today! See you guys tomorrow!
