Every day I see posts saying:
"AI built this app."
"AI replaced my workflow."
"AI wrote 10,000 lines of code."
And while some of that is true...
it hides an important reality.
AI Is Fast
AI can:
- generate code
- explain bugs
- write documentation
- create UI components
- speed up development
It's an incredible tool.
But speed isn't the same as understanding.
The Problem Nobody Talks About
AI can generate code.
But it doesn't understand:
- your users
- your business goals
- your market
- your product strategy
And those things matter more than most people realize.
I Learned This Building My Own Projects
When I started building tools and websites, I thought the hard part was coding.
It wasn't.
The hard part was:
- deciding what to build
- understanding users
- improving UX
- getting traffic
- learning SEO
- keeping people engaged
AI helped me write code faster.
But it didn't solve those problems.
The New Skill
The developers who will benefit most from AI aren't necessarily the best coders.
They're the people who can:
- identify problems
- understand users
- communicate clearly
- make decisions
AI amplifies those skills.
It doesn't replace them.
Final Thought
AI is changing software development.
But I don't think the future belongs to developers who blindly depend on AI.
I think it belongs to developers who know how to work with it.
The tool is powerful.
The thinking still matters.
