LinkedIn content in a non-English language is tricky. The AI defaults to translated American corporate speak, which Dutch audiences recognize and scroll past immediately.
I ran the same test for a week: same brief, five different tools, posting results on an actual LinkedIn account. Here's what I found.
What I tested
Five tools: Claude, ChatGPT (free), TextCortex, Taplio, and Postly. Same input each time: "Write a LinkedIn post about why AI tools save Dutch freelancers 5 hours a week. Conversational tone, 150 words, end with a question."
The results
Claude produced the most natural Dutch. The tone stayed direct and conversational without coaching it away from corporate phrases. When I told it "no hype words, write like you're texting a colleague", it followed the instruction exactly.
ChatGPT free worked fine but needed more prompting to avoid phrases like "In de snel veranderende wereld van..." (which is the Dutch equivalent of "In today's fast-paced world..."). Once you add an explicit style rule, the output improves a lot.
Taplio was the only paid tool I tested. It learned from my previous posts after a few iterations, which is genuinely useful for maintaining a consistent voice over time. The $49/month is hard to justify if you post twice a week, but makes sense for daily publishers.
TextCortex and Postly were serviceable for quick drafts but produced more generic output than Claude or ChatGPT with a good prompt.
The actual finding
The tool matters less than the prompt. Every tool produced better output with two additions: (1) an explicit instruction to avoid hype words, (2) specifying the Dutch regional directness you want.
For a full breakdown of free versus paid options with example prompts for each tool, I wrote a detailed guide on AI Tools NL.
What tool do you use for non-English LinkedIn content? Curious if there's something I missed.
