Building Autodots, we learned an important lesson from something we didn't expect: monsoon season.
Garage demand doesn't grow gradually during monsoon — it spikes suddenly and unevenly. A system that works fine at normal volume can completely break down under a 2-3x sudden increase, especially if it depends on manual coordination (paper job cards, verbal handoffs, memory-based tracking).
This pushed us to think about the product differently — not just "does this work," but "does this hold up under sudden, unpredictable load." Real-time job card updates, automatic invoicing, and automated customer communication aren't just convenience features — they're what prevents a system from collapsing exactly when it's needed most.
Autodots was stress-tested against this kind of seasonal spike, not just steady-state usage.
Curious if others building operational tools for seasonal industries have run into similar "sudden load" design challenges.
