QuickBooks was shut down in India in 2023, so Indian GST compliance still needs Tally. But Canadian operations need QBO or Xero for CRA.
For businesses operating in both India and Canada/US, how do you handle dual accounting?
Current options seem to be:
- Run Tally only — no proper Canadian/US accounting
- Run QBO/Xero only — struggle with Indian GST compliance
- Run both manually — double entry or CSV import/export
Questions for anyone dealing with this:
- How do you keep both systems in sync?
- Is manual CSV export good enough or would live sync save significant time?
- What data would you want synced? (invoices, payments, GST reports, journal entries?)
Currently no product does two-way sync between Tally and QBO/Xero. ERPPlugs handles Tally↔Zoho Books but not QBO or Xero.
No sales pitch — just researching if this is a real problem worth solving. Would love to hear from bookkeepers, CAs, and business owners dealing with this.
