I used to hate getting up in the morning. Not just because, well, it’s morning—but because my bathroom light felt like a spotlight on a stage. It was cold, harsh, and made me feel like I was getting ready in a gas station bathroom.
One day, while scrolling late at night (with way too many tabs open), I stumbled across a post about how lighting affects your mood. That’s when it hit me—maybe it’s not me that’s grumpy in the morning… maybe it’s my lightbulbs.
So I did a little digging.
Turns out, there’s a big difference between warm light and cool light. Warm light is soft and cozy—it has that golden glow that makes your space feel relaxing. Cool light is brighter and crisper—great for tasks like cooking or working, but not always ideal when you're just waking up.
I swapped the bulb in my bathroom with a 2700K warm white LED (don’t worry, 2700K just means “soft yellow tone”). The change was instant. I didn’t look like a zombie in the mirror anymore, and I didn’t feel like I was being interrogated by my ceiling.
The best part? These were LED light bulbs—which means they last way longer, use less power, and don’t heat up like the old-school ones. No buzzing, no flickering. Just calm, reliable light.
I found everything I needed at 50bulb. They break it down in a way that actually makes sense. No confusing charts or endless specs. Just what works best for each space—like what bulb fits a nightstand lamp vs. a ceiling fixture.
Now I’ve started slowly updating bulbs in other rooms too. My kitchen has cool white LED bulbs so I can actually see what I’m chopping. My bedroom has warm, dimmable lights that help me wind down before bed.
If your lights don’t feel right, it’s not you—it’s probably the bulb. 50bulbs made it way easier than I thought to fix that.
Mornings are still early. But now they’re a little softer—and that makes all the difference.
