What a shame it is that Geocities didn't stick around, evolve its features methodically and subtly reinvent itself along with the web.
Instead it got acquired, rotted and died.
There are companies trying hard to recreate a fraction of what Geocities already had a couple decades ago.
YAS! Geocities was the site that really cultivated my interest in web dev, I probably wouldn't have discovered CS without it.
