I came across this interaction around the use of the term "DX" in this pull request within the Forem repo.
I thought it would be useful to share this for anybody else who might come across this term and be confused. Acronyms can be passed around with few explanations.
Happy coding ❤️

I knew DUx, DX is probably a shorthand ^^
Deus Ex : Developer User Experience
TIL DUx 😅
If it looks like DUx, swims like DUx, quacks like DUx, then it probably is DUx. scnr😅
Not to be confused with architeuthis dux 🦑
"DUx" sounds weird. "Developer Uxperience"?
kinda, so "Ux" too
UX - User Experience
DUX - Dev User Experience???
Maybe... Then why would the
X
be lower?héhé, still, as developers, we are users with privileges, we have access to the backstage, I prefer mixing the two terms.
i realize it is Yet Another Acronym... but having worked in it for a few years its a really handy one. sorry for helping to inflict it on the world...
Thanks for the tip!
Thought it meant "Double XP" for a minute. :P
Did not know that 😉 Coming from UX, I guess 😉
DX is quite literally, my job.
😂
Quite a muddled term though, but glad to see it being used, it's a useful term for referring to thinking about developers in the context of your code, tools etc. All empathy is good empathy!
Well, I think I should write a bit more about this topic in the future. At least I wrote my master thesis on Developer Experience (DX) and Web APIs. I could possibly say a bit more about that...
Everything is an experience CX, BX, UX, DX, EX ..
Customer Experience
Brand Experience
User Experience
Developer Experience
Employee Experience
Thanks for the tip!
