Reviactyl v26.10.01: UI Enhancements, Roles System and More

Hello Developers, Host Owners, Server Admins and all who is viewing this post.

Today, I'm happy to announce that we are releasing this month's second big update that you're going to enjoy.

This update brings huge list of improvements, bug fixes, and enhancements.

Roles System

Most anticipated and requested feature for Reviactyl Panel was that previously you had to give full permission (root_admin) access for your staff so they can interact with server settings.

Some of them could nuke your entire business, and some would troll you and you wouldn't know.

So, we are bringing Roles System for Reviactyl Panel. This feature lets you configure roles with permission (similar to how subusers system worked) and assign those roles to your staff.

Creating Role in Admin Panel

Eggs Catalog

Previously you had to browse for eggs manually on our store, then import it to your panel under Nests -> Egg section.

Now, with few clicks your Egg will be installed from eggs.pterodactyl.io or rextstore.app

Eggs Catalog

Per-Server Timezones

Yes we know how messed up as an server admin to check your server logs. Previously, you had to strictly utilise the Timezone configured by the panel administrator.

Now, you can configure it per server!

Webhooks

Manually having to check your panel's log, Arghhhh!
So we are presenting you second most anticipated feature: Webhooks.

Now you can receives notifications using your webhook url, whether it be discord or any other service.

Webhooks

Database Importing and Exporting

Managing databases can be pain sometimes, especially when you're moving servers or trying to backup your data.

So, we have added Database Importing and Exporting directly into Reviactyl Panel. Now you can import and export your databases without having to depend on external tools for every small task.

We have also fixed several issues related to database imports, exports and restoration to make things more reliable.

Mobile Bottom Bar

Mobile users, we haven't forgotten you!

Previously, navigating through the panel on mobile could be little inconvenient, especially when you had to keep opening the navigation menu.

Now, we are introducing a new Mobile Bottom Bar for easier navigation. Accessing different sections of the panel on smaller screens is now more convenient.

File Permissions

Changing file permissions is now easier with the addition of permission checkboxes directly inside the File Permissions dialog.

Along with this, we have fixed several issues in the file manager, including right-click actions when selecting multiple files and pasting into startup variables using your mouse.

API Documentation

Developers, this one is for you!

We have added API documentation powered by Scramble, making it easier to explore the available API endpoints and build your own integrations with Reviactyl.

No more having to dig through the source code just to understand how an endpoint works!

Better Scheduling and Backups

We have fixed several issues related to schedules and backups in this update.

Completed schedules should no longer keep showing as processing, and we have also improved backup loading and fixed issues with failed backup slots.

We have also worked on schedule queue failure recovery, so automated tasks can handle failures more reliably.

UI Improvements

Apart from the major features, we have made several improvements to the overall interface.

Alert banners have been overhauled, schedule loading animations have been improved, and empty startup variable sections will now be hidden instead of taking up unnecessary space.

We have also improved default avatars by using user initials, fixed server category styling and addressed admin navigation flashing.

Small things, but these are the improvements which makes the panel feel more polished.

Server Categories

(there are other more)

And A LOT of Bug Fixes!

This update contains a huge number of bug fixes across different parts of the panel.

We have fixed issues related to subuser accounts, database operations, egg creation, server mounts, startup variables, authentication, SFTP credentials and much more.

Several issues with server limits, database password rotation, panel updates and rollback procedures have also been addressed.

There are also improvements under the hood, including dependency updates and changes to our testing workflow.

Agent Improvements

Apart from the panel itself, we have also made quite a lot of improvements to the Reviactyl Agent.

We have added support for server timezone overrides, so the agent can now respect the timezone configured for individual servers. We have also improved how files are handled during extraction and backups, including preserving symbolic links and empty directories.

There were also several fixes related to backup restoration, file permissions and archive extraction. This includes fixes for nested symlinks in TAR backups, gzip extraction truncation, backup finalization errors and restored file permissions.

We have also fixed issues with backup restore preflight checks, backup callback errors, chunked URL downloads, directory ownership when moving files and resumed SFTP uploads.

One important improvement is that replacing files during unarchiving now handles storage quotas properly. We have also fixed the preservation of special file permissions, making sure file attributes are handled more reliably.

On the performance side, we have made a small optimization by replacing fmt.Sprintf with fmt.Appendf in the agent, reducing unnecessary formatting overhead.

Apart from these changes, we have updated several dependencies and merged changes from the upstream Pterodactyl Wings project to keep the agent maintained and up to date.

These changes might not be directly visible in the panel interface, but they are important for making file operations, backups and server management more reliable.

That's Not All!

This release includes many more improvements and fixes which are too much to list individually here.

You can check the complete changelog on GitHub to see every change included in this release.
