Building EcoFinder Busan: A Student's Web-Based Interactive Map for UN SDG 13

Hi Dev.to community!

As a student developer passionate about building practical solutions, I recently worked on a project called EcoFinder Busan.

💡 What is EcoFinder Busan?
Inspired by UN SDG 13 (Climate Action), EcoFinder Busan is an interactive, web-based mapping tool designed to make sustainable living and zero-waste shopping much more accessible in Busan, South Korea.

Instead of scattered information, I wanted to centralize local eco-friendly stores, zero-waste shops, and green spots into a single, clean, and user-friendly interface.

🛠️ Tech Stack & Development Process
Platform: Built using Google Sites as the core web architecture, integrated with Google My Maps for spatial data visualization.

Workflow:

Investigation: Identifying the lack of centralized data for local eco-friendly alternatives in Busan.

Research: Collecting and curating information on zero-waste shops and sustainable businesses across the city.

Planning: Designing a streamlined UI structure with intuitive search filters and category tagging.

Action: Developing and deploying the live interactive map.

Reflection: Monitoring user engagement through post-launch surveys and gathering feedback for future feature expansions.

🚀 Check It Out!
If you're interested or want to see how it works, you can check out the live site here:

We are currently running a short survey event with small mobile vouchers for participants to improve the platform.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any suggestions on how to scale this kind of community-driven mapping project. Thanks for reading! 🌱
