WhatsApp Business Cloud API

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently made the WhatsApp Business Cloud API infrastructure behind Watext.io available through Apify.

The main goal here isn’t just to provide an API for sending WhatsApp messages. You can use this API to build your own WhatsApp SaaS product.

For example, you can build your own dashboard similar to Watext.io and allow your users to connect and manage their WhatsApp Business accounts directly through your own system.

The Meta Facebook Login / WhatsApp connection flow can also be handled within your application. From the user’s perspective, they don’t need to leave your SaaS, deal with API keys or manually manage access tokens. They can connect their WhatsApp account directly from your product and start using it.

From there, you can build features such as:

  • Connecting WhatsApp Business numbers
  • Creating and managing message templates
  • Sending campaigns
  • Sending WhatsApp messages
  • Managing WhatsApp Business accounts
  • Building your own WhatsApp automation workflows

In short, you can use this infrastructure to build:

  • Your own WhatsApp SaaS
  • A CRM + WhatsApp platform
  • A WhatsApp customer support dashboard
  • An e-commerce WhatsApp automation platform
  • A notification / messaging platform

While building Watext.io, I had to develop a significant amount of infrastructure around the WhatsApp Business Cloud API, Meta Login, token management, WhatsApp Business account connections, templates, and related workflows.

I’m now opening a significant part of that infrastructure to developers as an Apify Actor.

So if you’ve ever thought:

“I want to build something like Watext, but I don’t want to deal with all the WhatsApp/Meta infrastructure and approval process.”

—you can think of this as a ready-to-use backend layer for your own SaaS.

You can integrate the Actor into your application’s backend and build a WhatsApp SaaS experience under your own brand.

The project is newly launched, so I’d love to hear from other developers and SaaS builders. Especially interested in technical feedback and ideas for what should be added next.
