Swimming in code

This post offers a little bit of background into my journey as a developer and how slow its been until I found refuge in Amalitech, a training academy for young developers in the disciplines of Software Development, Software Testing and Verification and Data Science.
As you may know already in the introductory threads, I'm a Ghanaian,27 years old. My developer journey began 3 years ago after I completed university with a degree in Integrated Rural Art and Industry, I was aiming for a degree in Communication Design but some things happened and I ended up with that.
After acquiring my degree, I knew very well it wasn't that excitiing to me to enter into a profession along those lines so when my dad asked that I go for my masters in the same field, I never told him no but I decided to forge my own path with his help because I couldn't contest his decisions. I opted to enter into NIIT with the hope of acquiring as much industry related skills as possible to make me ready for software development. Their training modules were very good but there wasn't enough time to really delve deeper into projects. We actually completed web development (html and css only) and also java without any projects to show.
Fast forward, after NIIT in August last year, there's no mentor to guide us through anything so a group of three from our class decide to create a store management app but because we have no collaboration techniques, we decided that each person works on his own app and we later share ideas and decide on what to integrate into the other. The app never got built but I'm currently working to see if I can whip up something.
A few months later, here I am in Amalitech training academy receiving international standard training in Software Testing and Verification, a lot of teamwork here and there, a culture of constructive criticism and a well structured course with hands-on projects to make us full fledged developers in our various fields.
I'm very happy to have found a place with resources to thrive in this industry. I've had my fair share of experience in java programming and I'm trying my hands on android development right now and I believe at the end of my training, I will be a superman in Software Testing.
You will be hearing more about my passion projects in subsequent posts. I look forward to probably working with you on a project or two.

System.out.println("Have a nice day" + πŸ˜‰);
