Day 57: The Reality Check I Needed

Day 57: The Reality Check I Needed

Another "tomorrow I'll wake up early" turned into another 6 PM realization that I'm still posting late. But something's different about today - I'm finally tired of my own excuses.

The Lecture Problem

Let's be honest about something most students won't admit: half our lectures are teaching stuff that's already outdated. Don't get me wrong, professors are doing their best, but curriculum updates move slower than Internet Explorer on a dial-up connection.

So instead of mindlessly gaming through these sessions (yeah, I said it), I'm shifting strategy. Planning actual useful work during lecture hours. Revolutionary concept, right?

Phone Boundaries (The Real Challenge)

Here's where it gets interesting - I'm implementing a phone ban. One hour before sleep, one hour after waking up. Sounds simple until you realize how much we've trained ourselves to reach for that rectangle of infinite distraction.

The before-sleep part? That's about letting my brain actually wind down instead of doom-scrolling until 2 AM. The after-waking part? That's about starting the day with intention instead of immediately falling into someone else's content.

Looking for Collaborators

On a completely different note - I need a homepage designer for my current project. It's an unpaid internship (student budget reality), but you get proper certification and portfolio credits. Figma preferred, but talent trumps tools.

If you nail the homepage and want to continue, there's more design work coming. Sometimes the best opportunities start with taking a chance on something small.

The Shift

Today feels different because I'm finally done with performative productivity posts about grinding and small victories. This is just honest documentation of trying to build something meaningful while navigating the weird space between student life and actual professional work.

Some days you realize you've been playing a game that doesn't serve you anymore. Today's one of those days.

What outdated systems are you tired of pretending work for you?
