How I Built Clickmodus and Grew It to $2,200 MRR by Turning Anonymous Website Traffic Into Revenue

When I first started building Clickmodus, I wasn’t trying to launch just another SaaS product. I was trying to solve a problem that kept bothering me every time I opened Google Analytics.

We had traffic.

We had people visiting pricing pages, feature pages, even high intent sections of the site.

But we had no idea who most of them were.

If you run a B2B company, you already know this frustration. Hundreds of visitors. Maybe thousands. And only a small percentage ever fill out a form.

The rest leave without a trace.

That question stayed in my head for months. Who are these companies? Are they qualified? Are they researching us right now? Are we missing real opportunities simply because they don’t want to submit a demo request?

That is what led me to build Clickmodus.

Clickmodus is website visitor tracking software built specifically for B2B teams who want to identify website visitors at the company level and convert anonymous traffic into qualified pipeline. Instead of relying purely on inbound forms, we help businesses see which companies are engaging with their website, what pages they’re viewing, and how strong their buying intent might be.

The idea sounds simple. The execution was not.

In the beginning, I made the classic technical founder mistake. I over engineered everything. Clean architecture. Scalable systems. Proper abstractions. Background jobs ready for scale that didn’t exist yet. I built like we were about to handle enterprise traffic.

We weren’t.

Traction was slow. Revenue was almost non existent. I kept convincing myself the answer was better product refinement. Maybe the system needed tightening. Maybe performance improvements would help. Maybe one more feature would move the needle.

It didn’t.

At the same time, my co founder and I had constant debates about where to focus. I wanted to keep improving the internals. He pushed harder on distribution, outreach and positioning. Those disagreements were uncomfortable but necessary. They forced us to confront a simple truth.

Our bottleneck wasn’t architecture.

It was visibility.

That shift changed everything.

Instead of spending most of our time inside the codebase, we focused on clarity and distribution. We improved messaging. We simplified onboarding. We spoke directly to potential users. We published educational content around website visitor tracking software and B2B website visitor identification. We stopped hiding behind technical perfection.

Growth started to move steadily after that.

One area we never compromised on was compliance. Operating in the website visitor identification space means you cannot ignore GDPR or data protection laws. Early on, we met with multiple advisors and compliance specialists to make sure Clickmodus was built on solid legal foundations. We focused strictly on company level identification rather than personal surveillance. We documented processes carefully. We made sure consent boundaries were respected. It slowed us down, but it gave us confidence.

Trust matters in B2B. Especially when data is involved.

Today, Clickmodus generates around $2,200 in monthly recurring revenue. It is not a viral overnight success story. It is steady, consistent growth built on solving a real problem. The biggest lesson from building this startup is that customers do not care about your internal architecture. They care whether you help them identify website visitors, understand buying intent, and turn anonymous website traffic into leads.

Most B2B websites are sitting on valuable data without realizing it. If your pricing page is getting traffic from qualified companies and you have no idea who they are, you are leaving revenue on the table. Website visitor tracking software is no longer a luxury for modern B2B teams. It is becoming a competitive advantage.

Building Clickmodus has taught me that distribution is harder than development. Compliance is more important than speed. Co founder disagreements can sharpen strategy. And clarity compounds.

We are still building. Still improving. Still refining our approach. But the core mission remains the same. Convert anonymous clicks into closed deals.

If you are building something right now and growth feels slow, make sure you are solving a real problem and make sure people can actually find you. The cleanest code in the world will not help if no one sees your product.

Clickmodus started with a simple question about anonymous traffic. It turned into a product that helps businesses identify website visitors and act on real intent. And we are just getting started.
