How I passed the GH-900 Exam and what I studied

Hi everybody, I hope you are doing great!

In this article, I want to share how I learned the Microsoft Certification: GitHub Foundations (GH-900), how many days I spent preparing, and which courses and practice exams I used.

First things first, I already had experience using Git and GitHub in my daily routine, so I didn’t need to take a complete course specifically about GitHub. I prepared for about two weeks using free content available on the internet, and I also reviewed some topics on Microsoft Learn, especially subjects like authentication management, GitHub Projects, and GitHub Enterprise.

I really enjoyed studying for this certification because it expanded my knowledge of a tool I already use regularly. It also helped me better understand both the platform itself and the methodologies behind it. So, I’ll leave the Microsoft Learn link below.

I also did some practice tests using Microsoft Learn and Udemy. It became part of my routine to study and then test myself. I’ll leave the link below.

So, I took the exam online, just like I did for the AZ-900 certification. The exam is more practical in some aspects, with questions about Git commands, Markdown, and workflows. So, my advice is to study the conceptual part, but also practice hands-on if Git is not already part of your daily routine. Take some practice tests and then just go for it. It’s totally possible.

During the exam, try to stay calm and read each question carefully. That makes a huge difference.

I hope this article helps you, and good luck on your certification journey!❤️
