I'm building SIGIL - a mystical puzzle game that combines Mahjong tile matching with Balatro-style roguelike progression, all wrapped in a Victorian fortune teller aesthetic. Here's the dev log.
The Concept

Imagine a fortune teller's mahogany cabinet filled with mystical symbols. Match occult tiles to survive increasingly challenging waves. Build powerful synergies with Balatro-style power-ups. Push your luck with the Fever system for massive multipliers.
Core Loop:
- Tap accessible tiles (3D stacking, Mahjong-style blocking)
- Tiles go to a 7-slot staging area
- Match 3 of a kind to clear them
- Staging fills up = game over
- Clear all tiles = advance to next wave
- Between waves: pick power-ups to build your strategy

What Makes It Different
The Fever System
A push-your-luck mechanic that creates constant tension:
- Match quickly to build Fever (0-100%)
- FEVER! (50%): 1.5x score multiplier
- SUPER FEVER!! (75%): 2x score, -1 staging slot
- ULTRA FEVER!!! (100%): 3x score, -2 staging slots
At max fever + 8x combo = 24x base score. But staging full = fever resets. High risk, high reward.
Balatro-Style Power-Ups (26 total)
- Double or Nothing: 50% chance 2x, 50% chance 0
- Crescendo: +1 mult per wave completed
- Lucky Tile: 20% chance for 3x on any match
- Cursed power-ups: High risk/high reward (Glass Soul, Midas Curse...)
Roguelike Systems
- Daily challenges with unique modifiers
- Boss waves at 5 and 10
- Ascension system (10 difficulty modifiers)
- 30 unlockables tied to player level
