Top 5 Apps to Manage your Personal Finances

Everyone needs to know a few things about budgeting. Whether you want to control your spending and focus more on what you need or manage your investments differently, this can get difficult quickly if you are not the most organized person on the planet.

Now you may find online thousands of lists presenting you the best personal finance apps, but in all these top 32s, you might find new promising softwares and end up with a list of more than a hundred you are thinking of trying. Don’t look further; we gathered here the ones that are mentioned more often.

YNAB (You Need A Budget)

YNAB helps you visualizing your net worth via your accounts, budget, and transactions in a way that you can plan ahead for your next outgoings. It is linked to your bank account (while being safe). You may decide to automatize the transactions or to keep entering them manually. You can start budgets for different occasions, like a monthly or special one for your vacations abroad. It is customizable, portable, and the budgeting help is very detailed compared to other personal finance apps. The subscription plan is either $11.99 monthly or $84 yearly.

Mint

Like the previous software, Mint is here to keep track of your spendings and savings. As of today, it is one of the most used finance apps worldwide. It is pretty easy to use: connect your bank or any other financial account, and enjoy for free the many features it has to offer (daily budget planning, investment and bill tracking, credit score monitoring…). The app is also protective of its users’ data, as it uses a multi-factor authentication process and customer support every day.

Personal Capital

For large accounts with a minimum of $100K, Personal Capital offers financial advising as a central feature and tax assistance for US-based customers. The free version remains quite simple (but still useful for those looking for budgeting help). However, the paid version includes many more features, such as banking services or tax-efficient portfolio customization. Compared to the other tools presented in this list, this one is less centered towards personal finance but more towards wealth investment capabilities.

GoodBudget

If there’s one thing GoodBudget is good at, it is at proposing a simple solution to use and handle. It supports several financial accounts, and you can share your budgets with other users. The main idea is that when you receive money, you can place it in different virtual envelopes, each having its own purpose (rent, insurance, leisure…). Again, you may track your transactions manually, or you can import a bank summary of your spendings. While the free version only allows you to create up to ten envelopes, the paid version provides an unlimited amount, and you can track your money from multiple devices.

Quicken

Starting with its introductory offer at $35.99 yearly, Quicken is one of the oldest budgeting apps, but it keeps evolving a lot each year. Its cheapest offer allows users to track their income and spendings, view their expense trends, and get budget recommendations. You can also synchronize your bills and have an overview of your upcoming transfers so that you can plan accordingly. Quicken also proposes three other plans, each giving more features than the previous ones, and you can end up having one of the most complete budgeting applications for about $100 per year.

Honorable mentions: Pocket Guard, Honeydue, Mvelopes

As this is a top 5, not all the recurring applications could fit, so we decided to stick with what we think are the most important ones.

Hi. Excellent top finance management apps. Many people today have an urgent need for cash. Others cannot cover contingencies until the next paycheck. Still others are trying to solve problems using no fax payday loans online in Canada. Until people start managing expenses and income, they will have financial difficulties. I, too, only recently was able to get out of debt and this is all thanks to the correct financial planning. Of all the applications listed, I have used Mint, it is really top-notch, try it, you will not regret it.
