TL;DR
Claude passed OpenAI as the enterprise favourite (Forbes). The AI tools worth naming on a CV shift constantly. Pin your CV to one and it looks dated the moment the market moves. ChatGPT (82%) and Copilot (68%) still lead developer adoption (Stack Overflow 2025), but enterprise preference moves faster than survey cycles.
The principle
Name tools as evidence of a capability, never as the capability itself.
- Lead with what you can do, not which tool you used
- Name two or three you actually use, not eight in a list
- For enterprise roles, show awareness of AI governance, not just power
Phrasing
Weak: "Skilled in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity..."
Strong: "Built an AI-assisted research workflow using Claude and Perplexity, cutting report turnaround from three days to one with a manual fact-check gate."
The tool dates within a year. The capability does not. At CVPilot we check the AI phrasing matches current expectations.
Which AI tool do you reach for most?
