Which URL is Easier to Use and Better for SEO? πŸš€

Hey Dev.to community! πŸ‘‹ I’m setting up my portfolio as a frontend developer transitioning into cybersecurity, and I need your help deciding between three hosting options for my "Coming Soon" page. Which URL is easier to remember/type and better for SEO? Here are my options:

  1. umairshakoor.github.io/umairshakoor πŸ“‚

    • Pros: Free, tied to my GitHub profile, great for showcasing code.
    • Cons: Longer URL, subpath might dilute SEO.
  2. umairshakoor.netlify.app ⚑

    • Pros: Clean domain, fast redirects, developer-friendly platform.
    • Cons: Still a subdomain, less brand control.
  3. umairshakoor.vercel.app 🌐

    • Pros: Short, modern, optimized for speed and developer tools.
    • Cons: Relies on Vercel’s ecosystem, no custom domain yet.

I’ve set up redirects so all point to my main site, but I’m unsure which to promote as my primary link. Ease of use is key for sharing with peers and employers, and SEO is crucial for visibility as I grow. What do you think? Any experiences or tips? πŸ’‘

Looking forward to your thoughts! πŸ™Œ
