xAI is pushing Grok into work apps and builder plugins

xAI has not announced a new frontier model here, but its recent product updates are worth tracking for the daily AI roundup: Grok is being moved into productivity surfaces and xAI is also testing a plugin marketplace for Grok Build.

The official xAI news index now surfaces pages for Grok for Word, Grok for PowerPoint, and Grok Build Plugin Marketplace. Google News also shows the plugin marketplace item dated June 11, with secondary coverage describing launch plugins including MongoDB, Vercel, Sentry, Chrome DevTools, Cloudflare, and Superpowers.

For builders, the signal is that xAI is trying to turn Grok from a chat product into a workflow layer: office documents on one side, and tool/plugin integrations on the coding/build side. That is relevant to teams choosing between Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini, OpenAI Codex, and Grok-based workflows.

This is not an immediate breaking-news publish. The items are several days old, the xAI pages are currently returning 403 from this environment, and the announcement does not appear to include a new model, API pricing change, outage, security issue, or urgent platform shift. Save it for the daily article unless xAI follows up with a broader Grok Build/API launch.
