MyZubster: From an Idea to a LIFE-Ready Environmental MRV Ecosystem

MyZubster is evolving from a digital concept into a broader environmental innovation framework designed to connect real-world pilots, measurable environmental data, circular-economy actions and territorial replication.

And along that path, we introduced a new observer.

Meet ZORGAX-001

ZORGAX-001 — MyZubster analytical intelligence

ZORGAX-001 is the analytical intelligence and narrative observer of the MyZubster ecosystem.

Its role is not to make decisions in place of people. It is designed around a different principle: observe, analyse, provide context and make evidence easier to understand.

The principles behind Zorgax-001 are simple:

Truth. Transparency. Respect.

That makes Zorgax useful not only as a visual identity, but also as a way to communicate what MyZubster is trying to achieve technically: turn fragmented environmental information into evidence that people, organisations and territories can evaluate together.

From platform to measurable environmental impact

Our work so far has focused on an architecture in which MyZubster can support:

  • environmental and operational data collection;
  • sensor and field-data integration;
  • baseline versus post-intervention measurement;
  • monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV);
  • environmental KPIs and traceability;
  • water-management and water-reuse pilots;
  • circular-economy use cases;
  • scientific validation;
  • replication across municipalities, utilities and European territories.

The objective is not to build another dashboard.

The objective is to create a measurable evidence layer around real environmental actions.

The LIFE Programme path

We have been structuring MyZubster for a possible application under the EU LIFE Programme, particularly around circular economy, zero pollution and environmental demonstration.

That process changed the architecture of the project.

A strong European environmental project does not need only technology. It needs a credible demonstration environment, measurable impact, scientific validation, replication capacity and partners capable of executing each part.

So we stopped thinking in terms of collecting logos and started thinking in terms of roles.

The consortium architecture

The emerging structure is built around a few clear functions.

MyZubster would provide the digital layer connecting pilot activity, environmental data, traceability, KPIs and MRV workflows.

Potential scientific partners such as ENEA and the University of Padua / ICEA have been explored for environmental methodology, water, modelling, monitoring and scientific validation.

The objective is important: environmental claims should be supported by a defensible methodology rather than by operational estimates alone.

Water as a major pilot domain

Water has become one of the strongest potential application areas.

The architecture we are exploring can connect:

treatment or reuse technology → real pilot site → sensors and monitoring → MyZubster data layer → scientific validation → environmental KPIs → territorial replication

This makes water reuse, wastewater monitoring, circular water management and emerging-contaminant measurement particularly interesting use cases.

Finding a real pilot host

One of the clearest lessons from the work so far is that a demonstration project becomes much stronger when there is a real operational site behind it.

We therefore narrowed the search toward utilities and operators capable of hosting environmental pilots.

Among the organisations explored is Gruppo CAP, given its wastewater infrastructure and experience with innovation, monitoring and water-reuse initiatives.

Other potential utility partners remain part of the landscape, including Hera and Acea.

Coordinator and industrial capability

We also looked for organisations with concrete LIFE project experience.

Medica S.p.A. emerged as an interesting candidate in the water domain, while Agrosistemi is relevant for circular-economy applications involving wastewater sludge and resource recovery.

The distinction matters: a consortium needs partners that can move from a proposal to a real demonstration.

Territorial replication

A LIFE project should not end at its first pilot.

For this reason, we started building a replication layer as well.

ANCI Lombardia is relevant for municipal engagement, governance, capacity building and potential territorial replication.

At European level, Krakowski Holding Komunalny has been considered as a possible replication or second-territory partner, while the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) represents a broader ecosystem for European circularity and territorial replication.

Fewer partners, clearer roles

The strategy has now become deliberately selective.

Every partner should solve a specific project problem.

A strong architecture could therefore look like this:

Why MRV matters

Monitoring, reporting and verification is one of the areas where MyZubster can potentially create the most value.

A pilot can claim that it saves water, reduces waste or improves circularity.

A stronger project can demonstrate:

  • what the baseline was;
  • what changed;
  • where the data came from;
  • how environmental indicators were calculated;
  • who validated the methodology;
  • whether the outcome can be reproduced elsewhere.

This is where digital traceability, sensors, environmental science and project reporting meet.

The Zorgax vision

Zorgax — ambassador, protector and ally

Zorgax also represents the wider narrative dimension of the project: technology should remain an ally, not a substitute for human responsibility.

The fictional universe gives us room to explain difficult ideas — evidence, transparency, collective intelligence, environmental responsibility and technological power — in a more accessible way.

Behind the science-fiction language is a very practical principle:

Technology becomes valuable when it helps people understand reality well enough to act on it responsibly.

ZORGAX-001 therefore acts as the analytical observer of MyZubster, while the wider Zorgax identity expresses the long-term idea of cooperation between technology, knowledge and people.

What comes next

The next phase is deliberately focused.

We are not trying to contact every organisation that could theoretically fit the project.

We are trying to close the critical pieces: an experienced coordinator, a committed pilot host and a consortium in which each partner has a measurable role.

If that architecture comes together, MyZubster can become more than a software platform.

It can become an operational layer for environmental demonstration, MRV and scalable circular-economy projects.

And Zorgax will be there to observe the evidence, challenge assumptions and help us ask better questions.
