🎉 The First Community Bounty Has Been Paid: A Small Reward, A Big Milestone

One of the ideas behind my-monero-bounty was simple:

Open source should reward people who help, even for small contributions.

Today, that idea became reality.

The First Bounty Is Complete

A GitHub contributor picked up an issue, submitted a fix, and after reviewing and merging the contribution, I sent the Monero bounty.

It wasn't a huge payment.

But that wasn't the point.

The important part is that someone from the community contributed to the project and was rewarded for their work.

For me, that's a major milestone.

Another Contribution Is Already Waiting

The project keeps moving.

Another issue has already been completed by a contributor, and I'm currently waiting for the contributor's Monero wallet address so I can send the payment.

It's a simple process:

a contributor solves an issue;
the Pull Request is reviewed;
the work is merged;
the contributor receives the agreed bounty.

The goal is to make contributing straightforward and transparent.

Why This Matters

Many open-source projects rely entirely on volunteer work.

There's nothing wrong with that, but it can make participation difficult for people who don't have much free time.

The idea behind my-monero-bounty is different.

Even small improvements deserve recognition.

Whether it's fixing a typo, improving documentation, writing tests, or implementing a feature, every accepted contribution helps the project move forward.

Building a Community

For me, this isn't only about paying contributors.

It's about building trust.

When contributors see that bounties are actually paid after work is completed, the project becomes more than just a GitHub repository.

It becomes a place where people know their effort is valued.

A Good Start

This is only the beginning.

One bounty has already been paid.

Another is ready to be paid as soon as the contributor shares their wallet address.
