I Let AI Decide My Daily Life for 14 Days — Here’s What Scared Me Most

Artificial Intelligence is often praised for boosting productivity, streamlining tasks, and optimizing decision-making. But what happens when you let AI control your daily life entirely? I decided to experiment for 14 days, and the experience was both eye-opening and unsettling.

From the moment I handed over control, my daily routine became hyper-efficient. The AI managed my work schedule, prioritized tasks, and even suggested breaks at the most optimal times. At first, it felt like a productivity dream. Decisions were easier, and time felt structured in a way I had never experienced.

However, by day three, I noticed subtle shifts in my thought patterns. I no longer debated small choices, as the AI had already decided for me. Even my instinctive reactions began to align with its recommendations. What initially seemed convenient quickly became intrusive. I realized that while AI isn’t physically controlling me, it influences my behavior by removing hesitation and offering consistent “correct” choices.

By the second week, the experiment revealed a deeper truth: reliance on algorithms can gradually erode autonomy. Each decision felt logical and justified, making me trust the AI over my own judgment. The psychological impact was profound—I felt efficient but strangely detached from my own life.

This experiment underscored the double-edged nature of AI: it can enhance efficiency and reduce friction, but too much dependence risks diminishing human judgment. If you’re curious about the full 14-day journey, the insights, and the lessons learned, check out my detailed write-up here:

AI is a powerful tool—but the moment we stop questioning its recommendations, we start losing our own sense of control.
