The difference between a prompt and a contract

A prompt is advice. A contract is a constraint. My agents changed the moment I stopped writing the first and started writing the second.

Prompts get ignored when context gets long. Contracts get enforced because they come with consequences.

If your agent only listens sometimes, you do not have a prompt problem. You have a contract problem.
