you are oversimplifying and overgeneralizing the issue IMO. First of all I'm not talking about the outcome of these interviews, I'm talking about putting someone through unwanted anxiety. Not all hiring managers are like that and even if they are it gives them no right to put someone through unwanted pressure. The person applying for the job might already be having many issues (Jobless, desperate, family issues, money issues, and so on) why add more stress to that?
