βFor high-availability or security-critical workloads, evaluate providers carefully and implement independent backups regardless of host.β

LOL, it's a great choice for people who have no important data to worry about! This is the third time they've had a complete system collapse ... everything shut down for days, including their own website and terminal.
When support finally comes back online, they know absolutely nothing. No timeline for a fix, no updates.... just nothing. And if you dare to ask for a clear deadline, they get rude. Their only job seems to be keeping you waiting for days.
Then, when they finally recover, you discover that emails, databases, and other critical data are permanently lost. And do they care? Not at all. No compensation for the massive disruptions and financial losses they caused. Just a total disaster.
Thanks for sharing your experience β that sounds extremely frustrating, and I wonβt try to invalidate it. Losing data or facing extended downtime is a serious issue for any platform, and I understand why that would completely break trust.
From my side, I can only speak about my own usage: Iβve been running ASP.NET APIs and smaller production apps on SmarterASP.NET for a long time, and for those use cases, my experience has been stable so far. Thatβs the context in which I shared this post.
That said, I agree with one important point youβre indirectly making: no hosting provider should ever be treated as a single point of failure. Regardless of the host (including AWS, Azure, or shared hosting), regular backups, external monitoring, and redundancy are non-negotiable for critical systems.
If someone is running mission-critical, high-availability systems, they should absolutely evaluate SLAs, backup strategies, and disaster recovery guarantees very carefully β or use a multi-provider setup.
Appreciate you adding this perspective here. Itβs useful for people to see both sides before choosing any hosting provider.
They HACKED again!! I have moved my site to Asphostportal, little bit expensive, but they are more reliable, secure, and top notch support.
Thanks for sharing your experience. If youβve faced repeated security incidents, moving to a provider you trust more is absolutely the right callβpeace of mind matters more than pricing.
My post isnβt meant to say SmarterASP.NET is the best choice for everyone or for all workloads. I shared it based on my own experience running small-to-medium ASP.NET projects and APIs, where it has worked reliably for me so far.
I also agree with the broader takeaway here:
for security-sensitive or mission-critical systems, provider choice, backup strategy, and incident response matter a lotβand different teams will make different trade-offs. Paying more for stronger guarantees and support can be the correct decision.
Appreciate you adding another real-world data point to the discussion. It helps others make a more informed choice.
