Top 7 Featured DEV Posts of the Week

Because we put the spotlight on the Top 7's Top Authors of the Year last Monday, for this week's Top 7 we've extended our selection window to two weeks. As always, the posts shared in this series are curated by the DEV Team and meant to highlight high-quality content from different authors in our community.

The posts chosen below cover a good mix of topics — acquire interview advice for 2024, tag along for a humorous JS framework comparison, or browse a curated reading list for aspiring tech leads. There's a little something for everybody in this one!

We're siked to welcome 3 new folks to our Top 7 author lineup: @johnrushx, @polakshahar, and @notachraf. Of course, big ups to our repeat Top 7 authors.

In navigating the evolving job market, mastering the nuanced rules outlined by @dragosnedelcu in this comprehensive 2024 guide becomes a crucial investment, equipping developers to decode the challenges of technical interviews and secure coveted roles amid the intensifying competition, layoffs, and market shifts.

In this code-infused journey, @johnrushx humorously builds the same To-Do app seven times using different frameworks, from the seasoned Angular to the underrated Alpine and the author's brainchild, MarsX. Brace yourself for a blend of code, humor, and life-altering revelations that transcends the ordinary framework debate. 😎

Session-based or token-based authentication, that is the question! Follow along with @fidalmathew to figure out what answer is right for your situation.

If you’re striving to become a tech lead, @frosnerd has curated a helpful list of books to broaden your mind and get you prepped for success. Read on and share any resources that inspired you in the comments.

When an interviewer posed the question "Can you stop a relentless forEach loop in JavaScript?" @polakshahar thought it was a strange and impossible ask. As improbable as they may be, there are some solutions. The comments section is worth digging into for this one!

Tired of those pesky listicles clogging up your DEV feed? Well, you’re in luck! @lnahrf has you covered with this sweet, new Chrome add-on to help you filter out low-quality, low-effort listicle posts.

Inspired by Bjorn Staal's work, @notachraf set out to recreate one particularly cool aspect of it — sharing a state between multiple windows. Check out the code to experiment with it and consider applying this super cool concept to your next project.

And that's our Top 7 for the past two weeks! Let us know your favorite recent posts and don't forget to show these featured authors some love in the comments below.

Wondering where you can catch more of these fantastic articles, discussions, and updates? Well, it's your lucky day because this week's top articles will also be featured in our weekly DEV Community newsletter, landing in your inbox every Tuesday. Don't miss out on the best discussions – make sure you’re opted in! 🚀📩
