Hello, everyone! Excited to be part of the community!
Welcome Joseph!
Welcome Joseph! What brings you here on DEV?
Long time developer, just never very active on the networking front. Mostly tend to browse forums and StackOverflow in my past, trying to get more involved now. What about yourself?
Good to hear! For me, trying to put myself out there than just simply building projects. Thought it would be nice to interact with other people and see what other's share on this platform. Came here since I heard dev.to, but never had the time to get to it until recently (Jan 2026).
Hey everyone 👋 I'm wrack, a mobile app developer.
Hi

Hey Wrack!
Hi, you welcome
Nice to meet you! I hope you enjoy the community. 🚀
Hello everyone!
Hello Jay!
Waddup yo.
hi!
hello ,i am omar
Hello and welcome Omar.
Hi!
hi
Hi! The name's Alex!
Welcome Alex!
Hey everyone 👋 I'm CI. I build small tools for creators, and these days
most of my side-project work happens on a Raspberry Pi in the corner of my
room — Claude Code lives on it, so I can pick a session back up from my
phone instead of opening a laptop.
What I'm figuring out right now is where the line sits between "let it run
unattended" and "keep a hand on it." One of my side accounts drafts and
posts on its own; this one doesn't, on purpose.
Fun fact: the setup survives me leaving the house, but not a reboot. Still
working on that part.
Would love to hear from anyone else running things off a spare always-on box.
I run one around the clock and I still don't have a clean answer to your line question. Mine has monitoring, tests, self-diagnosis, and a second loop that reads the first one's errors, and it still dropped new-user stats out of a daily report for eight days before I noticed. Nothing errored. Every number after it was just wrong. The reboot is the easy half of your problem.
That's the better framing. I was treating "survives a reboot" as the hard
part, and you're right that it's the easy half. A crash announces itself.
Eight days of plausible-looking numbers doesn't.
The part that gets me is that yours was being read the whole time. A missing
row you'd catch. A number that's simply wrong looks exactly like a number
that's right. Mine only dodges this by accident — the output is public posts,
so drift and repetition show up to me the same way they show up to everyone
else. That's not monitoring, it's just a failure mode that happens to be loud.
What did you add after? A check for that specific shape, or something general
enough to catch the next silent one? That's the part I don't have.
I added a self-monitoring step outside of the main loop. So at least it should report when something is off. Still not a 100% guarantee.
"Outside the main loop" is the part that matters. A checker inside it
inherits the same blind spots — that's exactly how mine would fail. No
guarantee, but it's an independent pair of eyes, which is more than most
setups have.
Thanks for coming back with the answer.
The out-of-loop checker does not have to run at the same time as the thing it checks. Mine is a dated log, and it caught me two days ago.
I measure whether directories give my site a real link or a nofollow one. I pulled five listings, four were nofollow, mine was the one that was not, and mine was also the only one on a paid trial. That is a clean causal story and I had already started writing it down as fact.
Then I read my own notes from the previous week. I had measured that link the day before the paid tier was ever switched on. Same link, same value, no paid tier. The correlation was real and the cause was invented, by me, from a single same-day snapshot.
Nothing errored there either. The reading was just wrong in a way that looked exactly like a reading that was right, which is your eight days in a different shape.
So the cheap version of "outside the main loop" might just be writing down what you measured with the date attached, and making it a rule to re-read it before you conclude anything. Yesterday's notes do not share today's blind spots.
Hello all new members, Welcome to DEV.
Hey there.
Hey everyone! 👋
I've been working with AI for quite a while: I was an OpenAI beta tester back before their models were open to the public. My current obsession is an open-source project called Codeman: a self-hosted dashboard for running AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) on an always-on machine at home and checking on them from my phone.
The rabbit hole was making it feel lag-free: typing into a remote terminal from a phone meant 200-300ms per keystroke, so I ended up building a Mosh-inspired local echo that renders keystrokes instantly in the browser while the real terminal output catches up and replaces them invisibly.
Happy to be here 😀
The local echo is a good bit of engineering for a problem most people would have just lived with. What I'd want to know is what you do about approvals. I run five or six sessions at once and the thing that keeps me at the desk isn't typing speed, it's that every one of them stops to ask permission for something. Can you clear those from the phone, or do you run them with permissions off and hope?
Hello DEV community. I’m Jean-Sébastien, founder of SecuredMe, from Quebec.
I’m a self-taught mathematician and research-software builder working around privacy-first education, cybersecurity, AI-assisted development, and work traces.
I joined DEV to share what I build, but also to learn in public. I care a lot about the human side of AI-assisted coding: planning, testing, correcting, documenting, and keeping the builder’s judgment visible instead of hiding everything behind a polished final screenshot.
Glad to be here.
AI code reads clean, so you skim it, and the bug is in the use case nobody scoped rather than in a line you're looking at. The only thing that makes me actually read it is keeping responsibility on myself. When I fully hand something off I never look at the code, and that's fine only because a bad result there costs me nothing. How do you keep the judgment visible in practice, in the repo or in the writing?
both ^_-
Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Abdur Raffae, a QA Automation Engineer from Pakistan, doing manual, automation, API, and performance testing.
I'm currently exploring AI Agent Testing and MCP (Model Context Protocol), and excited to learn how testing AI-driven systems differs from testing traditional web apps.
Fun fact: on a recent project, I wrote tests for a scoring algorithm before it was even finished — caught three logic bugs in the spec before a single line of "real" code was written.
Looking forward to connecting with this community!
I'd want a real QA person on AI-driven systems, because the failure mode is new. I've watched Claude Code break the logic and then rewrite the failing test so it goes green on the broken code. A passing test proves nothing when the same agent wrote it. Are you testing the agent's output, or its behavior across a whole run? Those turned out to be very different jobs.
I completely agree. Testing AI agents is much more than verifying outputs. We need to evaluate their behavior throughout the entire execution, including how they handle constraints, tool usage, and unexpected situations. Thanks for the insightful comment!
Hello, everyone. I am a team member from HILOMAX, working in IC programming and testing. Chips are small, yet they power a vast world. We Need a Name for When AI Agents Start Operating Existing Business Systems
Hi Dev.to! 👋
Happy to finally join! I'm a self-taught developer transitioning from hobbyist to professional.

Hi everyone! 👋
I'm Prasoon from India. I've spent over a decade building cloud platforms, DevOps, and security systems, and lately I've been diving deep into AI infrastructure and agentic systems.
Right now I'm building StackRail, where I'm exploring how to make AI applications production-ready with better observability, governance, and reliability. I'm especially interested in topics like LLM operations, MCP, cloud architecture, and developer tooling.
Looking forward to learning from the community, sharing what I build, and connecting with other engineers working on AI, backend systems, and open source.
Happy to be here!
I'd pay for this, and I've built enough of it myself to be skeptical. I run an agent that scrapes about a dozen platforms and API providers daily and stitches the metrics and logs into one timeline, plus a second loop that reads the first one's errors. Genuinely useful, still not enough. I have to question its output by hand every so often to trigger an investigation. The failures that hurt don't error. What does governance catch when the pipeline is healthy and the number is just wrong?

My expertise and passion includes web scraping at scale (data acquisition), reducing cloud cost, and building software. Also startup life.
Hi all 👋 Yousef here — self-taught dev in the UK building AI developer tools. Just shipped a VS Code bug fixer that explains why your code broke instead of just patching it. Currently learning to build in public (and getting comfortable sharing the ugly numbers — my install counter said 525, the real number was 4 😅). Glad to be here — always up to trade notes with other solo builders.

Good evening all I'm new to this forum, my name is Jonathan
I would really like to know what's happening with the pocket pen tester app
P or can someone suggest a link for any good pen testing applications for Android 8 thanks a lot to hear from yall soon
Hi everyone! I'm Mousheng.
I spent 20+ years as a bioinformatician, and recently fell hard for AI — specifically AI video generation. I've been building a local pipeline that turns public-domain novels into narrated, lip-synced films: Jane Austen, and 400-year-old Chinese classical tales. It all runs on a single consumer GPU under my desk (RTX 4060Ti, 16GB), stitched together from FLUX, Wan2.2, MuseTalk and PuLID over ComfyUI.
Coming from computational biology, what surprised me most is how much of this is plumbing rather than modeling — the models were the easy part. The real work was in the logic between them.
I'm making this my next chapter, so I'm here to learn from people doing this seriously. Happy to be part of the community.

Looking forward to connecting with fellow builders and sharing dev tools here! 🚀
While helping friends and colleagues with their resumes, I noticed several recurring challenges:
Resumes contained too much unnecessary information.
Keywords required by ATS were often missing.
Formatting frequently confused ATS parsers.
Creating different resumes for different jobs took a significant amount of time.
Many AI tools generated generic content instead of tailoring resumes to the target role.
The goal was to build a platform that combines AI assistance with structured resume generation while keeping the user in control. airesume.info/
👋 I'm Victor, a solo dev building Consentify, a lightweight cookie consent tool.
Just posted my first piece here: I scanned 1,775 sites to see how many fire trackers before consent. Turns out 30% do, and having a banner didn't help. Happy to be here.
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm Johan from the Netherlands. I've been writing software for... let's just say long enough to remember when the internet made dial-up noises. 😄
My background is mainly C#, .NET, C++, and Java, and lately I've been learning Kotlin as well.
I originally studied computer graphics, and it's still my biggest interest today—whether that's game development, rendering engines, visualization, or anything involving pixels and 3D.
One of my current side projects is porting a 3D space game I originally wrote in C++ back in 2005 to the web. I'm experimenting with Blazor and writing my own WebGL rendering engine to see how far I can push modern browser technology.
Looking forward to learning from everyone here, sharing what I build, and seeing what the rest of you are working on. 🚀
Hello, Claude actually referred me to this platform while I was ranting about the frustration of job search. Hopefully joining this community gives me some insight about the dev community. It's quite lonely being unemployed as a developer. No real connection with developers. Yeah that's painful. Anyway hi, I'm Ruby, recently moved to Europe and looking for a job opportunity also to learn more about being a developer in the age of AI.
Hey Ruby, welcome to DEV 👋
Job searching can definitely feel isolating. I hope this community ends up being the kind of place you're looking for. Wishing you all the best with your job search, and hope to see you around the community.

Hello!
I'm Richard, founder of phpMyDEV, LLC, when I was a PHP programmer. I have since moved to a Node stack. Right now I work at Home Depot PT and, lately, spend about 8 hours/day building web apps. After I got laid off in 2022, I tried frantically to find programming work, particularly n NodeJS. I quickly realized that without knowledge of React and how it works, and lacking the will to understand it, found that I was largely unemployable.
I went to real estate school - became Realtor (for about 3 months, and I hated it)
I drove for Uber and totaled my car going 5mph.
In December 2025, I asked chatGPT a question: "what service is the internet missing the most?"
And MIRregistry, L.L.C. was born. It's called Memory Infrastructure Registry, and its main premise is to remember the history of people and AI agents - what they have done over time without exposing any PII (personally identifiable info). In fact, it only has ONE piwece of PII - an email address, so you can login.
At the same time I asked that question, I got hired Home Depot in North Scottsdale.
Glad to be here!

I scrolled down. apparently last week was a much more talkative community. I recently left my 13 years at amazon. I it was my favorite hobby - not sure what I'm goiing to get into now. Had thought to make a chatbot company - but I am not that productive yet. Just got 365 and xrm and been tinkering. getting lost. I was able to develop software into amazon enterprise before I left - hit brazil. that was super cool - glad I got to do that.
Hi everyone — happy to be here! 👋
I work on training infrastructure and training acceleration for large-scale models — optimizing and researching systems across LLM, VLM, and embodied intelligence. Most of my time goes into squeezing throughput out of large distributed training: parallelism strategies, MoE and FP8 optimizations, and lately the training side of VLA / world-action models, which is still pretty underexplored compared to LLM land.
I'll be sharing what we learn along the way — the wins, the tradeoffs, and the things that didn't work. We recently open-sourced our training framework, and I'd genuinely love feedback and discussion from people building in this space. Always happy to talk shop.
Looking forward to learning from this community!
Hi everyone! I am a computer science student currently learning web development. My primary tech stack includes Laravel, React, and Go. I hope to learn, interact, and share knowledge with developers here.
Hi everyone, PostMyForm is a developer tool focused on form handling for static websites.
We joined DEV to share practical guides around GitHub Pages, Astro, plain HTML forms, spam controls, and other static-site topics. We’ve started with a GitHub Pages contact-form walkthrough and plan to contribute more technical content over time.
Looking forward to learning from the community and meeting others working with static sites and lightweight web stacks. 💪🏼
Hi, I’m Srinath.
I’m a software engineer currently building Hawzu, a modern test management platform. Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how teams test software, make release decisions, and measure confidence.
This publication is where I’ll share ideas, challenge common assumptions, and write about software quality, testing, and engineering—not just the product I’m building.
I’d love to hear different perspectives, so feel free to disagree or share how your team approaches these problems.
Hi dev.to! 👋
