Explanation: This script uses `os.listdir()` to iterate through files in a directory. `re.match()` checks if the filename matches the provided regular expression. `re.sub()` performs the replacement based on the matched number. The `os.rename()` function then updates the filename.

Practical Results:

I use this script regularly when importing photos from a camera. It automatically updates the filenames to a consistent format, saving me a significant amount of time and preventing naming conflicts. It’s a huge time saver.
