As we are currently in the AI era, a lot of people are searching or asking questions directly to AI, and if you are running a business, your business must be considered in AI search. You may have seen that one of your competitors was actively recommended by AI, but you were not. So here is the question: why did it happen? As you were spending a lot of money on an ad campaign, and you already have a digital marketing agency that's putting in every possible effort on SEO, you still didn't have visibility in AI searches? Why?
Here is an answer to your question: AI engines like Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and so on don't operate on any page rank or SEO. These AI engine bots don't simply crawl most of the website; they fetch the schema.org structure information. If your website didn't have that, then it is simply avoided by the AI engines. As mentioned in the previous blog post, I audited more than 1,000 websites, and we observed that most of the websites have structural discrepancies that cause most of the websites to be omitted from AI search.
These AI engines did not understand the brands or services that were isolated. They always try to link entities as relational nodes, evaluate your business domain, and cross-reference these domains. Also, AI engines preferred those websites that have a lightweight frontend. As those bot were not wait for too long were they have to spend much token's.
Also, we need to allow this bot to crawl in the robots.txt file. After whitelisting those crawlers, we need to maintain the llm.txt and llm-full.txt files, which play an active role in AI searches. After this all you have to maintain proper schema.org struture this all will improve your AI visibility.
