Day 1160 : Took Some Time

  • Professional : Another quick day. Started off looking up some info for a question that was asked on a video I recorded like 2 years ago. Responded to some community questions. Sat in on a seminar. Updated an old blog post to reflect an API going to General Availability. Worked on some documentation and the next thing I know, it's the end of the day.

  • Personal : I set up a couple of stands that will be holding filament in the workshop. Also got a workstation put together to hold the other 3D printer that just came in. The good news is that the C clamps are still holding up the screen door and ceiling light wires. Figured out why one of my prints keeps messing up. When I added some text, it seemed to have shifted everything up on layer, so when what should be the first layer was not printing until the second layer. I fixed it by basically kind of redoing the whole thing over. They are basic shapes so it wasn't too bad. Took some time, but I'm glad it figured it out. The only issue now, is that it seems to be adhering / sticking to the build plate too much and kind on breaking when I try to take it off. Going to try another plate and see how that works.

A majestic valley is framed by towering granite cliffs, their faces marked with vertical striations and patches of snow clinging to the upper reaches. Lush green forests blanket the lower slopes, transitioning to vibrant autumn colors of red and gold in the midground. A winding river or road snakes through the valley floor, leading the eye towards a distant waterfall cascading down a shadowy cliff face. The sky above is a mix of clear blue and wispy white clouds, suggesting a crisp, clear day in Yosemite Valley, California.

So yeah, like I mentioned, going to load up up plate with the redone model on a different plate and have that run over night to see how it turns out. Says it should take like 13 hours! I really need to start getting the items for the collab project done and printing and stop tweaking things. Going to print the ones that are already in a good place and finish up the others. Of course, it looks like one of the printers is down (the nozzle is stuck) so I need to put in a support ticket for that. It's a good thing I have the others so I can still keep things printing. Also, I'm almost done printing all the enclosures for the printers. I still need to install them, but I've had the printers running pretty consistently. Going to work on some models tonight after eating dinner. Looking to set up the new printer tomorrow and run some test prints of the models I work on tonight to make sure everything looks good.
