Day 1170 : Too Much

  • Professional : Pretty productive day. Had a couple of meetings. Booked the hotel for the upcoming conference in a couple of weeks. I looked up some hotels close to the conference venue and cross referenced them with hotels listed on the conference site. That way, I'll be in the place where other conference attendees may be. Since I'll be driving my van, I needed a hotel that could accommodate it. I called each one to check and I found one that has a gated parking lot and I just need to pay a daily parking fee. I think it still works out cheaper than a flight and I don't have to deal with airports and can take my time traveling there and back. The hotel is close to the venue so I'll be able to walk most of the time and get a ride share if there is a venue with too much distance from the hotel. Did some research into other events happening around the same time that I can attend as well. Spent some time responding to community questions and researching answers.

  • Personal : Last night, I did the social media posts for the projects I'll be picking up on Bandcamp. Looked at the prototype of the box I printed and thought of some ways I could possibly make it a little sturdier and started messing around with the 3D models. Don't really remember what else I did besides get on the phone with the shipping company to see what happened with my missing package. That was fun and unexpected.

Got the printers printing. I think I figured out a way to have some pieces get joined together tighter. Got the prototype printing to test it out before doing the whole thing. I've got part of the cover printing full size on the oversize printer and it's been going well so far. Using the other plate and some glue seems to be working out great. The other printers have been printing some holders and another printing cover inserts. Going to pay my car insurance and set up an appointment to get my van tuned up before my trip. Going to go through tracks for the radio show and see how this prototype turns out. Probably end the night looking through events to check out during the conference.
