Day 1297 : No Problem

  • Professional : Had a no meeting day and was able to focus on some demo applications I've just started yesterday. I ran into a couple of issues while setting up a server. The older tutorials show using a CLI to generate the credentials, but I wanted to create something that is a little closer to what a developer would actually be using. I'm not the best backend developer, and ran into a couple of roadblocks, but looking through the docs, my other projects, SDK source code and reaching out to the SDK maintainer, I was able to get it up and running. I even made it so that you can open it in a GitHub Codespace, enter in some information and you have the server up and running. I also included one of the tutorials that you can test out the functionality right away and look at the code and play around with it right in the browser. My plan is to add the other 2 tutorials, but I have something else I need to finish first. That thing is the WebXR experience I've been building with XR Blocks. I'm taking one of their demos on their site and adding Vonage communications to it. Using the server I made earlier in the day, I was able to answer a phone call in the WebXR project. This was in the simulator, so I'm going to try it in my headset tomorrow. Hopefully I don't run into the WebView component issue where it runs in the simulator, but not in the headset. haha It should be good, because I tested one of my other applications and was able to get audio communications working out the box. Fingers crossed it will work with no problem.

  • Personal : I was pretty tired last night so I didn't get too much done. I didn't even set up my smart glasses. I went down a lot of rabbit holes looking into investment and retirement strategies. haha
