Professional : After a pretty disappointing week at work as far as getting stuff done, today turned things around to end a high note. Had a quick chat with some coworkers so that was cool. I'll be seeing some of them next week. A coworker told me yesterday that one of my tools was down. Looks like a service I was using for something not really critical was finally shutdown and caused an error with my application. My tool runs completely in the browser so it doesn't need any third party libraries. I was using the service for something that was mostly an add-on so I just removed it and any references. I'll integrate something at a later time if I ever need the functionality again. Last night, as a last ditch effort to get this sample application working, I deployed it to my personal account on the service. There were a couple of bugs, but I was able to get it deployed successfully and it works consistently. I was very happy. Today, I worked on adding some functionality, so I went through a bunch of documentation. I think the sample app is still under heavy development because parts of the code don't really make sense and may have been left over from previous iterations. I also rewrote my part of a script for a video we will be filming next week. Also, printed the info trip guide the team put together for next week with schedules, hotel info, etc. Pretty good end to a rough week all things considered.
Personal : In addition to getting the sample project up and running, I put together the social media posts for the projects I picked up this week on Bandcamp. I even selected the projects for next week and started the social media posts for those. Oh and I bought a new domain name. It's not going to be a separate site, but I'll be using it to forward to my company website since the original URL has to be spelled out and the new one is a lot more catchier.
Like I mentioned, I'll be travelling for work all next week, so no blog posts here, but I will be updating my travel site https://dwane.in . It's going to be so cold! haha We'll see if what Google Gemini recommended I wear for the weather will work. It'll be good to see my co-workers in person and not through a laptop screen. Going to finish putting together the radio show, pack up the 7" test pressing to mail to the artist for their approval (I listened to it today and it sounds fine to me, but I'm not a good judge of vinyl audio quality. haha) so I can ship it tomorrow before the radio show, update an online shop with some photos and prices and let the client know, and I may see if I can work on that sample application since I wasn't able to get as far as I would have liked because of all the complications. Time for dinner and get back to work. I'll still be doing the radio show on both Saturdays at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com and one Sunday study sessions at https://untilit.works
