- Saturday : Did the show from a hotel room in NY! The hackathon that I went to cover went really well and folks liked my quick presentation. After the event, I headed back to do the radio show. I was tired and rambled quite a bit, haha but had a great time. The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com
Sunday : I stayed up late getting the radio show ready to be uploaded and other post show tasks. Took a quick nap for a few hours and got up to get ready to check out of the hotel and head to the airport to fly home. Got home and did some laundry and passed out.
Professional : Today went pretty well. Didn't have any meetings in the morning so I made a bunch of progress on this starter application I'm creating to help participants of this hackathon I'll be attending this week in Barcelona to use my company's product with another sponsor. I had to pivot from my original idea because of a concurrency issue I was running into. Then I had to pivot again because one of the features I was implementing is not able to render properly because of the platform I'm using shows an interstitial page instead of the page I want. Had a meeting with my manager and after a couple of ideas, it was decided to just drop the features. I already have like 3 features to showcase already. Spent the rest of the day working on the application and the user experience. I'm basically on the precipice of getting it done and recording a video demo as a promo. The video I created of the first starter application did pretty well on social media. I'm hoping to get a majority of the hackathon participants to use our product in their projects.
Personal : We got an order of the project we just released on https://HIPHOP.family Been so busy with work that I haven't had a chance to really promote it. I need to send out an email to the folks that purchased item in the past. I may work on that during the flight to Barcelona. Going to see if I can put together part of the order and get it ready to be shipped before my work trip.
Tonight, my plan is to put together this week's radio show and pack my suitcases. Once that's done, going to put the finishing touches on this starter project so I can record a demo video tomorrow morning. I also want to get a first draft of the workshop I'll be doing at the hackathon and try to get some coworkers to test it out and give me feedback. Going to eat dinner and get started.
