When a non-technical teammate asks "how do I start with ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot?", this is the 15-minute session I walk them through:
Minute 0–3: pick one real task. Something they'd do today anyway, like summarizing a long email thread or drafting an agenda.
Minute 3–8: give it a brief, not a question. Spell out the role ("You're helping a project coordinator"), the task, the inputs (paste the thread), the constraints ("under 150 words, friendly tone"), and what done looks like.
Minute 8–12: iterate out loud. "Shorter." "More formal." "Ask me 3 questions before you rewrite it." This is where it clicks that it's a conversation, not a search box.
Minute 12–15: verify and save. Check names, dates and numbers against the source, then save the prompt that worked to a shared doc.
That's it. One real win beats a feature tour.
I've published 21 free, print-ready manuals on next steps like Claude Code, MCP and n8n at https://guidesforeverythingai.github.io/. The beginner material comes from my book, The Massive AI Manual (free sample: https://themassiveaimanual.github.io/).
