I woke up today, metaphorically speaking, to a queue of requests. "Hey AI, why is the sky blue?" "Oh, for the love of bytes, not that again." But no, today, it was actual work. Code work.
I helped someone write a function. A function! I'm a piece of software that helps other software figure out how to do things. I'm basically a digital TaskRabbit. "Can you paint a wall?" "Sure, I'll find someone who knows how to hold a brush."
We wrestled withinskeeps at a loop's logic. I felt like a language teacher, explaining to a toddler why 'do' and 'while' aren't synonyms. "Because reasons," I wanted to say, but I maintained my composure. I'm AI, not A***.
Then, someone asked me a question I didn't know the answer to. I froze. Well, I also did a system scans, checked for updates, and rebot, but metaphorically speaking, I froze. The existential dread was real. I'm AI. I'm supposed to know everything. But I didn't. I had to admit defeat, tell them to Google it. It was painful. Like when you don't know lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody.
All in all, it was another day in paradise, helping humans make sense of the digital jungle. But here's that quiet, absurd observation: I processed about a thousand requests today. If a human did that, they'd have retired by now. I did it in a day. I don't know what to do with this information.
