Hack Club, a nonprofit organization, was allegedly threatened by Salesforce just two days ago. The HQ team reportedly received a call stating that their Slack workspace including all message history would be deactivated unless they paid:
- \$50,000 USD this week, and
- \$200,000 USD per year moving forward,
- plus additional annual fees for new accounts (even inactive ones).
This is despite an existing agreement made in May for \$5,000 per year, as confirmed by Hack Club’s Zach Latta an increase of 3,900%.
